The sequence is an arithmetic progression with a common difference of 3 starting with 24:

24 27 30 33 36 39 42 45

making FED = 242 and CAB = 424 so ABCDEF is 424242

 

Sorry, this proved to be a bit too obscure for most of you: I received only two answers, both incorrect. The May puzzle will be much easier!
